Pick your starting point on the destination board and the 31 houses sort themselves by drive time from its centre. From St. Gallen that is Bregenz, from Geneva Divonne or Annemasse, from Lugano Campione. If you share your location, the board is measured from where you actually stand.

Real. Every regional figure comes from an OSRM road routing between the centre of the starting point and the house, without traffic and without waiting time at the border. Only the figures measured from your own browser position are estimated from the straight line, and they are labelled as such.

The original passport or identity card. Across the border a photo on a phone, a photocopy, a residence permit or a driving licence is refused. Swiss houses accept a driving licence in some cases, but the original is always the safe answer.

18 in Switzerland, Austria, France, Italy and Liechtenstein. 21 in Germany, which means Konstanz, Lindau and Baden-Baden. The age is checked at the door, not at the table.

In Liechtenstein and Campione, yes — francs are the working currency. In Germany, Austria and France the tables run in euro; some cashiers exchange francs at a poor rate. Change money before you leave.

The door board on the home page shows every house with its current status, calculated in Swiss local time and displayed in your own zone. Slots usually open around midday, tables in the late afternoon or evening.

Only for the Austrian A14 towards Bregenz and Lindau. The main road from Lustenau or Höchst costs about five extra minutes and no sticker. Nothing on the French or German routes here requires one.

It differs per house: Bregenz and Konstanz have paid garages, Lindau, Bendern, Divonne and Ribeauvillé park you free at the door, and Campione has a free 500-space garage. Annemasse has no car park of its own — take the tram.

Winnings in Swiss casinos are tax-free for players resident in Switzerland. Winnings abroad are taxable income and belong in the tax return, Campione included — it is legally Italy, whatever the customs map says.

Not automatically. A Swiss exclusion is registered nationally and holds in every Swiss house, but foreign houses run their own registers. If you have excluded yourself, the border is not a loophole; it is a warning sign.

Rarely by train. Tables in Bregenz and Bendern run until 5.00, long after the last connection. Decide the driver, book a room or plan a taxi before the evening starts — every house here is easier to reach than to leave.
